SHARJAH: Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah (PSCS) celebrated the 76th anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence Day with a colorful program.

Board members of Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah Imran Aslam, Imran Rafique, Faraz Ahmed Siddiqui, Raja Sarfraz, Zubair Khan, Muhammad Ghaus Qadri, Abdul Waheed Pal, Syed Saleem Akhtar, Zaheer Ahmed, Haji Yasin, Uzman Ahmed, Malik Aslam, Jahanzeb, Khawar, Dr Mehboob, Shahnaz Khanum, Farzana Mansoor, Sumaira sana and other prominent personalities of the community also attended.
Fawad Khan from the Consulate of Pakistan was the chief guest on the occasion.
A large number of women and children participated in the ceremony – senior citizens, young people, women and children, dressed in Pakistani colors with flags in their hands, gathered in love of their homeland away from their homeland. The colors of love for their homeland were reflected from their faces
Pakistan flags all around while there were food and drink stalls for everyone to enjoy.
Saima Naqvi, Cultural Head of Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah, and Syeda Aishal Zainab welcomed the guests to the programme.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Muhammad Imran. Solidarity was expressed by playing the national anthems of the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan.


PSCS General Secretary Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmed while welcoming the guests gave an account of the services of Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah provided to the community.

Children of Pakistan Education Academy Dubai presented beautiful tableaus. Children of Pamir Private School and Al-Amal English School presented passionate speeches and songs while famous singers Zadran and Hussain’s songs enthralled the gathering.


Through his beautiful dialogues, Shahzad reflected the sentiments of foreigners living far away from Pakistan. Elocution and painting competitions were organised among students and prizes were distributed among the winners. There was also a taekwondo demonstration.

Six-year-old Noorul Ain surprised the audience by reciting the complete Periodic Table. PSCS President Khalid Hussain Chaudhry was impressed and specially awarded this girl.

While expressing his views, chief guest Fawad Khan admired the enthusiasm of the Pakistani community and said that being a part of the programme made him feel good.
“Today, we have to pledge that we will be a source of our country’s identity even while living abroad and will never let its flag be undermined,” he said.

Khalid Hussain Chaudhry congratulated everyone on the Independence Day, saying: “Independence Day is an opportunity to remind ourselves how much our elders sacrificed to make our dreams come true.”
A cake cutting ceremony in connection with the Independence Day celebrations was also held.
