More than 1000 Female Employees participate in the Various Competition of the Tournament
The 11th edition of “Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament”, the biggest of its kind, was successfully concluded last week with distinctive participation of more than 1000 female employees of different ages & multi-nationalities from various governmental, semi-governmental & private entities.
Participants in the Tournament competed in 7 sports competitions; these were: bowling, running, cycling, padel, badminton, shooting & obstacles challenge.
“Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament” is organized by Dubai Sports Council (DSC), aiming to attract women sports talents and to increase the level of women’s awareness with the importance of the exercise of sport & physical activities.
H.E. Saeed Hareb, the Secretary General of DSC, honored winners in all categories of the cycling competition, took place at the Palm Island – Deira in conclusion of the 11th edition of the Tournament.
Mira Murwan Al-Falasi from Dubai Police won 1st place in the 20 km locals’ category of cycling competition, followed by her colleague in Dubai Police Alya Ali in the 2nd place & Noof Ali Al-Noon from Mohammed Bin Rashid University in the 3rd place, while in 20 km expatriates’ category, Angelica from Fitch Training Center gained 1st place, followed by Mai Florence from Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services in the 2nd place & Reem Younus from Salik Co. in the 3rd place. The first three places in the open category were gained respectively by Makhabet Umtaznova, Valeria Kononenko & Renata Soltanova from Dubai Police.
In shooting competition, held at Fazza Shooting Range in Al-Rawiya, Jawahir Al-Tamimi & Marwa Mustaf from H.H. The Ruler’s Court secured 1st place, followed by Zainab Al-Jahran & Hanan Al-Humairi of RTA in the 2nd place and Sumaya Haji & Wafa Ibrahim from Transportation Security Dept. in the 3rd place.
In 4.5 km running competition – locals’ category, Ruqaya Mohammed from Talabat Co. won 1st place, followed by Hessa Al-Jasmi of the Emirates Fly in the 2nd place & Fatima Saeed of Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services in the 3rd place. In open category, Kholoud Darweesh of Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services gained 1st place, followed by Josephine Tan from DP World in the 2nd place and Latifa Bin Khadeeja of Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services in the 3rd place.
In obstacles challenge, took place at Gravity Gym Club in Al-Quoz, the RTA Team composed of Mira Al-Falasi, Muna Ghadhban & Zainab Al-Hajran, won 1st place, followed by Dubai Police Team, containing Maryam Mubarak, Fatima Al-Maamari & Maha Hassan in the 2nd place and DEWA Team, comprising Maitha Abdul Rahim, Omaima Mohammed & Nora Al-Shamsi in the 3rd place.
In badminton competition – locals’ category, Ghadir Al-Zahri of Dubai Municipality won 1st place, followed by Maryam Al-Baloushi from Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Governmentin the 2nd place & Hind Al-Janahi from Dubai Police in the 3rd place. In Expatriates’ category, Amritha Kotikrishnan from the Canadian Consulate won 1st place, followed by Celeste Mai from Dubai Health Authority in the 2nd place & her colleague in Dubai Health Authority Dunaid Matthew in the 3rd place.
The padel competition took place at the Just Padel Club in Rashid Port, and participants were classified into locals & expatriates’ categories. In locals’ category, Mira Al-Falasi & Sheikha Al-Shamsi from RTA won 1st place, followed by Fatima Al-Baloushi & Asma Montaser of Dubai Customs in the 2nd place and Hiba Sami & Sarah Bashir of Dubai Public Prosecution in the 3rd place, while Jessica Lucas & Maryam Al-Hashimi from the Just Padel Club secured 1st place in the expatriates’ category, followed by Sondos Salim & Hessa Ahli from RTA in the 2nd place and Mai Alfa & Hiba Al-Sayed from Dubai Police in the 3rd place.
In bowling competition – locals’ category, Sarrah Al-Mulla from the First Abu Dhabi Bank secured 1st place, followed by Mira Shabaib from the General Directorate of Residency & Foreigners Affairs in the 2nd place & Maryam Mubarak of Dubai Police in the 3rd place. In expatriates’ category, Samantha Hanan from Easy Generator Co. gained 1st place, followed by Eileen de Leon of Flavorik Co. in the 2nd place & Ladi Liz Ann from Femme Co. in the 3rd place.
Winners in all competitions of the Tournament were awarded by Ms. Hessa Al-Kous, Head of the Women’s Sport Sec. in DSC, accompanied by representatives of the Tournament’s sponsors; these are: Dahmani Jewelry, Honor Phones, Fresh Market, Aquafina, Risnk & Fazza Shooting Range.
