Women of Wisdom WOW, a women’s organization at Pakistan Social Center Sharjah, organized Pakistan’s Independence Day, which was named “Wow Azadi Mela”, wow independence fair was attended by Pakistani women and families of Dubai, Sharjah and Northern Emirates.
The event witnessed a series of exciting activities and competitions that highlighted the spirit of freedom and unity. Founding members Farzana Mansoor and Sarwat Zahra along with members Sadia Tariq and Zubaida Khanum organized a fascinating program,
which showed patriotic fervour among the audience.
Sadia Tariq and Zubaida Khanum played stage secretaries, a special segment featured online videos submitted by children that showed their love and admiration for Pakistan. The panel of judges comprising Imad-ul-Hassan and Zil Huma had a tough time selecting the top entries.
Fajr Adil bagged the first position, Abiha second, Safa Qaiser third and Inaya Adeel fourth, while all the participants of this video competition were awarded certificates of appreciation. Amidst many attractive competitions, the flag painting competition added colours to the festival. In the eyes of judges Muhammad Saleem and Ursiya Komal, Iman Ali Mansoor secured the first position, Fiza Zafar got the second and Abiha Shahzadi got the third position.
The event took an educational turn with an interesting map contest, challenging participants to correctly place the names of cities within their respective provinces on the map of Pakistan. A quiz session tested the knowledge of both women and children about interesting facts about Pakistan, which is shown through an engaging presentation. The celebration of diversity and culture took centre stage with a cultural dress competition.
The women adorned themselves in traditional attire that represents different parts of Pakistan, from KPK, Sindh, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab to Balochistan. The winners were praised for representing the cultural heritage. There were food stalls at the “Wow Azadi Mela” the audience further enhanced the cultural experience by enjoying the flavours of Pakistan.
The event was sponsored by SuperFix Auto Centers and Baspari Cosmetics, pakistan social center Sharjah also supported the event. The organizers thanked all of them.
