As part of the “Ramadan in Dubai” campaign for the year 1445 H, launched
under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid
Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Media
Council, with the aim of unifying the efforts of the government and private
sectors in celebrating the holy month of Ramadan in Dubai, and to highlight
the festive atmosphere with which the emirate adorns itself at the beginning
of the blessed month.
The Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department in Dubai organized an
event called “Let’s Break Fast Together”, where His Excellency Ahmed Darwish
Al Muhairi, Director General of the Department of Islamic Affairs & Charitable
Activities, welcomed around 300 individuals from foreign schools and
universities residing in Dubai for an iftar invitation, held yesterday evening at
Expo Dubai City.
Ahmed Khalfan Al Mansouri, the Intercultural Communication Advisor and
General Coordinator of the “Ramadan in Dubai” events at the Department,
stated that the “Let’s Break Fast Together” initiative originated from the
Intercultural Communication Section at the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for
Islamic Culture, which serves as a cultural and informational hub for the
communities residing in Dubai. It serves as an invitation to all principals of
foreign schools and universities in the emirate of Dubai to have breakfast
together under the dome of Al Wasl Plaza at Expo Dubai. The aim is to enhance
mutual relationships and knowledge exchange between government entities in
Dubai and the academic and scientific sectors, enriching the exchange of
knowledge and reflecting the intercultural image of Dubai. It also reinforces
Dubai’s unique model of cohesion and coexistence with the diverse foreign
communities, comprising over 200 nationalities living harmoniously in peace
and security. He emphasized that this gathering is an integral part of the fabric
of the UAE and a significant partner in its progress, development, and
prosperity.
Some principals of foreign schools and universities praised the initiative for its
role in enhancing mutual relationships between them and government entities
and institutions. They commended the Department’s efforts and the wise
leadership’s directives in their interest and cooperation with the resident
communities, and in spreading a culture of tolerance to convey a message of
love and peace from the UAE to the world at large.
