The Department of Islamic Affairs and charitable Activities in Dubai honored the official Hajj mission
of the government of Dubai for the year 1444 ah at the Intercontinental Hotel in Festival City on
Tuesday morning –
In the presence and under the patronage of H. E. Dr. Hamad Sheikh Ahmed Al Shaibani, Director
General of the Department of Islamic Affairs and charitable Activities in Dubai, and some leaders,
executives, consultants, employees of the department and employees of Dubai government
departments from the members of the official Hajj Mission, and some supporting bodies.
The honoring meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and then a video was shown
telling the journey and achievements of the official Hajj mission of the government of Dubai, before
traveling to Saudi Arabia and in Mecca and the land of the holy sites.
Al Shaibani opened the ceremony with a touching speech about the Hajj, expressing that feelings
and feelings cannot describe that blessed journey, and recalled the memories of the Hajj mission
since it was ordered by the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, may God rest his soul, as it is
only a few days, but in the calculations it has an impact on everyone, through which he welcomed all
members of the official mission, both at the local and federal levels and the pilgrims affairs office in
Abu Dhabi .
Shaibani stressed that the directives of the wise leadership in the UAE, represented by the directives
of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the
UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
Crown Prince of Dubai and chairman of the Executive Council, may God protect them, by providing
all means and facilities and harnessing all .
Al-Shaibani added that these annual efforts exerted by all are the embodiment of the spirit of
integration between the concerned parties in order to revive this great corner of Islam, and he
thanked the supporting parties that contributed to the success of the hajj this season, starting with
the efforts of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in sponsoring pilgrims globally, and then the General
Authority for Islamic Affairs and endowments in Abu Dhabi .
For his part, Mohammed Suhail Al Muhairi, Head of the official Hajj mission of the government of
Dubai, explained that this trip, which included (80) pilgrims from the employees of the government
of Dubai for the first time, was a blessed and distinctive journey and its keenness to play its role to
the fullest, thank God, praising the great follow-up and sustained care for the wise leadership of the
pilgrims .
At the end of the ceremony, Shaibani honored the members of the official Hajj mission to Dubai
government employees, the administrative, religious and media staff organizing the mission, and the
supporting and participating entities, including the Dubai Police General Headquarters, the General
Directorate of residency and Foreigners Affairs, the Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Media
Corporation, Emirates Airline, Dubai airports, Dubai Customs team, the Ministry of Health and
Prevention, Al Shirawi Hajj campaign, the pilgrims affairs office in Abu Dhabi, and a special tribute to
Saeed bin tuweh, director of the customer service department for his special efforts for the official
Hajj Mission for the government of Dubai.
The meeting concluded with certificates of appreciation and commemorative photos with pilgrims
and supporting bodies, calling on Allah Almighty to accept the Hajj from everyone, preserve the UAE,
its people and its wise leadership, and make it a justified pilgrimage and a grateful endeavor.
The ceremony was presented by Hilal Al-Fili, head of the corporate communication department at
the communication and marketing department.
